Thank you to everyone who took part. Your feedback is helping the Council decide what to do next in its review of the current Chester City Public Space Protection Order.

We are preparing a report that summarises your feedback and the findings will be discussed by the Council's Cabinet in the coming months.

We would like to understand your views on Chester City Centre Public Protection Order

The Council is currently reviewing the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) covering Chester City Centre. A PSPO gives local councils and local police additional powers to tackle anti-social behaviour in specific locations.

The Chester City Centre PSPO includes the following measures:

  • Deterring the use of Psychoactive Substances (also known as Legal Highs)
  • Deterring Public Urination / Defecation
  • Controlling the use of alcohol.

We want to know your views on whether these measures should continue and remain in place.

How your views will be used

All feedback will be considered and used to inform the review of the existing PSPO covering Chester City Centre before it expires in May 2022. A summary of findings from the consultation will be made available here in May 2022.

How to get involved:

This consultation is open until Sunday 16 January 2022. Please share your views by completing a survey here.
