Please use the toolkit to engage with your service users on the future of day services, to help understand their views and ensure future services reflect their needs.

Cheshire West and Chester Council is redesigning day services for adults aged 18 and over who have a learning disability and/or neurodivergent people, to make sure the service is centred around each person’s individual needs and provides value for money.

We want to hear people’s views on the future of day services, in particular each of the ideas we have for day services. We are keen for as many people as possible to be able to take part in the consultation on day services, to ensure the ideas reflect what people want. More information can be found on the consultation's dedicated webpage here.

The toolkit has been created to support staff to undertake engagement activities with people who currently attend day services to help them take part in the consultation and give their feedback on the ideas for the future of day services.

Toolkit

You can download a copy of the toolkit here, which includes the following:

  • How to capture who takes part in your activity
  • Instructions on how to carry out the activity
  • Information about each idea for future day services in easy read format
  • Response tables to enable you to capture service user views on the ideas
  • How to return the feedback from your toolkit activity

Further resources

You can also download a copy of the easy read consultation document and survey here.

Adele, who attends day services, tells you about our ideas in the video below. You can play this when you are running the sessions.

This consultation is open until Wednesday 8 May 2024. Please ensure all toolkit activity feedback is returned before this date.

Please note, staff from Vivo Care Choices will need to complete any toolkit activities before the pre-election period starts on 18 March 2024 as council-run activities are restricted during this period.
