There is too much capacity already, without the new ones currently being built. We are supposed to be reducing waste, and as the Channel 4 documentary revealed, many councils are being forced to send clean, sorted recycling to be burnt, just to fulfill their commitments to the waste companies. Once the Protos and Lostock incinerators start pumping out hundreds of thousands of extra tonnes of CO2 every year, all CWAC's hard work on reducing emissions will be totally wiped out!

There is rarely a valid reason for using these generators for events in a built up area. They add to climate change and the emissions also negatively impact health of the visitors. The noise created also has a negative impact. The event planners should have to provide clean power from the council or nearby shops etc. An example of how bad this gets is at Barons Quay. Their events insist that stalls, units etc provide their own power. They inevitably bring generators. Last weekend at the food festival there were 6 of these generators within 30metres. This is unacceptable. Too much noise and fumes.
