The Facing the Future consultation has now closed.

Thank you to everyone who took part, your feedback has helped the Council set a balanced budget, in line with the things that are important to you.

The consultation findings and feedback on the key messages are available here

The findings were discussed by the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Cabinet and Full Council in February 2022, to help inform Councillor’s decisions to set the budget. Information about these meetings is available on the Council's website:

Details for Overview and Scrutiny here

The Council provides a range of services focussed on Communities, Environment and Economy. For example, maintaining roads, managing planning applications, licensing premises, collecting household waste, maintaining public spaces, supporting local economic growth and engaging with local communities.

Our key priorities are to grow our local economy and deliver good jobs with fair wages for our residents, address the climate emergency and make our neighbourhoods even better places to call home.

We have developed a number of proposals to balance the budget and ensure there is enough money to tackle these priorities.

We would like to hear:

  • Your views on whether these proposals are the right choices
  • Any further ideas for saving money or raising income

To find out more, please watch our animation below, or details of the Communities, Environment and Economy proposals are available here.
