Take part in our Summer Reading Challenge

Are you aged between 13 and 17 and love talking about books? We’re excited to announce Julybrary – a bookish photo challenge lasting the whole of July!

Each day during the month of July, we'll be posting a prompt for a book-themed photo on our Instagram page. You need to get creative and take your own photo that fits the theme, it could be anything from a book you couldn’t put down, to your favourite reading spot.

To take part on Instagram:

Post your photo on Instagram using the hashtag #JulybraryChallenge and tag us @cwaclibraries. Please add a book review or description of your entry in the caption. You don’t have to have read all the books that you post – sharing what you’re excited to read next is great too!

If you don't have Instagram you can also upload your photos here on this website by selecting Competition. We'll be posting a full list of the themes at the beginning of the challenge. You can upload photos here that fit any theme alongside a brief book review or description of your photo.

There are also a number of online events running over the summer which you can participate in, just select the Online events tab below for further details.

Get involved now by selecting one of the tabs below.

Mama G is a pantomime dame who loves to tell stories, to children and their families, about being who you are and loving who you want. Audiences get the chance to meet some of Mama G's very own crazy creations: including the first lady to go into space, a goat with a wind problem and a fashionista dinosaur called Little Roar. Mama G's stories are full of audience participation, sing along moments and have been known to incorporate BSL, puppetry and even a spot of magic!
