Drivers travelling along Grosvenor Road are prohibited from turning right into Castle Drive. This restriction operates Monday to Saturday between 4:30pm and 6:30pm and is already enforceable by the Police.
Why is this location being considered?
The restriction was introduced to help manage traffic movements on Grosvenor Road during the evening peak period, when traffic volumes are at their highest. By prohibiting right turns into Castle Drive during restricted hours, the measure helps reduce delays caused by turning traffic and supports the efficient flow of vehicles along this key route into and out of Chester. The location has been identified through observations by Cheshire Police and Council Highways Officers regarding driver compliance with the restriction. Vehicles making the prohibited right turn can interrupt traffic flow, create unnecessary delays and undermine the purpose of the existing traffic management measures.
