We have to collect some information about those taking part in the Teens Read Two challenge.

What personal data do you need to provide and what is it used for?

You need to provide your library card number which is added to each entry form. This is used to confirm eligibility to enter the competition.

If you are between 11 and 15 the contact details and/or library card number from parent or guardian will also be added to the entry form. This acts as proof of permission to take part in the challenge.

What allows you to use my data?

We only process personal data you provide when you enter any competition.

Who we will share your information with?

We will not share your information with anyone else.

How long to we keep this data?

We will only keep the personal data i.e. on the entry forms, while the Challenge is underway and while we provide prizes. After this time all entry forms will be disposed of within our confidential waste. This will be before the end of September 2026.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us to delete the information we hold.

If you are not happy about the way your personal data is being processed you can complain directly to the Council’s Data Protection team by email: DPO@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk(External link)

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
