Cheshire West and Chester Council is reshaping the way that special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support is provided for children and young people with SEND who attend mainstream schools, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and associated learning needs.
We would like to hear your views on what you value about the current Outreach Service and any ways in which you think SEND support to mainstream schools could be improved.
Your feedback will help shape a new service, to support mainstream schools to feel more able, confident, and skilled to support children and young people with SEND.

Once the engagement closes, the Council will consider the feedback received to help shape the development and implementation of the new service. We will share a summary of the findings on the Council website and explain how all the feedback received has helped to shape the service. We are aiming for the new service to begin operating from Spring/Summer 2026.
