The Summer Reading Challenge has now ended in Cheshire West and Chester Libraries but these crafts are still fun to do!

How to make an archaeology notebook

Archaeologist’s notebook – Freddie in The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates (by Jenny Pearson) loves facts. So do archaeologists! Make and fill in your own mini notebook with facts about an interesting object you’ve found.

How to make your Archaeologist's notebook:

  • Choose 'Fit to page' when you print out the notebook, then trim the white border off all four sides of the print out.
  • Fold the sheet of paper into 8 equal sections along the lines which say 'fold'. Open it back out again afterwards.
  • Cut down the middle of the sheet along the thick black line where it says 'cut'.
  • Fold the sheet into a book, using the numbers on the pages as a guide!

(A big thanks to Cheshire West Museums for this activity!)
