Where and how people live can affect their health and some individuals or groups don’t have the same opportunities as others. This results in marked differences across the borough in things such as life expectancy and the number of people living in poverty.

The Health and Wellbeing Strategy aims to tackle differences in the building blocks of health such as income, education, employment, housing and access to health care. By addressing these differences the aim is to close the gap in how people live so everyone can have a chance of living a healthy and happy life. These differences are known as inequalities.

The overall vision for the Health and Wellbeing Strategy is:

‘to reduce inequality, increase years of healthy life and promote improved mental and physical health and wellbeing for everyone in Cheshire West’
