The Choices in Challenging times consultation has now closed.
Thank you to everyone who took part, your feedback will help the Council set a balanced budget, in line with the things that are important to you.
The consultation findings and feedback on the key messages are available here.
The findings were discussed by the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Cabinet and Full Council in January and February 2023, to help inform Councillor’s decisions when they set the budget.
Information about these meetings is available on the Council's website:
What do you think about our ideas for changing budgets and services, and where we think we could raise more money?
We face a funding gap of around £42 million over the next four years, with £19 million to be saved in the first two years. We have developed ideas to close the gap over the first two years. These choices aren’t easy and need to be informed by what matters to you.
You can view our proposals in our further information document here. This information is also available in web accessible format here, or easy read format here.
Some of our proposals are at an early stage of development and may require more engagement and conversations with the public and others. We want to be open about these emerging proposals and are sharing them with you now.
