Your views are really important and what you have told us will be used to help shape the draft Climate Emergency Response Plan 2025-2030 for the borough, which will then be shared for public consultation later this year.


Getting the right energy, to the right place, at the right time is one of our key challenges and opportunities in west Cheshire.

As a place with many businesses which use a lot of energy, our energy networks are under real pressure, and it is important that this is considered to ensure they are an enabler to local growth, rather than a barrier.

There has been significant growth in renewable and low carbon energy generation in recent years, both in businesses, and in people’s homes. Continuing to grow and store renewable energy generation in a way that is fair and that is supported by communities will be one of the key opportunities and challenges for the area in the next five years.

    We would like to hear your views on our proposed priorities for tackling Climate Change in west Cheshire. 

    The Council is renewing its Climate Emergency Response Plan and we would like to understand if the themes we have set out are the right ones and if you think there is anything else that should be included in the new Plan.

    If you would like to review our current Climate Emergency Response Plan to see what actions were suggested in relation to energy to help the borough reach carbon neutrality, please visit the Climate Emergency Response Plan website. 

    Your feedback is important and will be analysed and used to help shape a new draft Climate Emergency Response Plan, which will then be shared for public consultation later this year.
