Eco Communities crowdfunding campaign needs your help
Chester based Eco Communities UK has appealed for support towards the last £1,500 of its Spacehive crowd funding initiative with Cheshire West and Chester Council. So far it has raised 85% of its target but needs the additional donations to achieve 100% in the next 2 days.
The campaign attracted many backers from across the community, unlocking funding from Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Climate Change Emergency Fund and Community Innovation Fund. The funding will support Chester Green Festival in the city on June 7th and 14th, and 4 new Community Refill Hubs across Cheshire with reusable Party kits for hire and sewing repair initiatives with training.
Funders so far have said:
“If everyone did their bit we can save so much! Amazing work you guys are doing. Keep going! You ARE making a difference. This is my way of acknowledging World Earth Day, in Cheshire and the North West UK.”
“This is a fantastic project and I'm delighted to support it with a donation. I'm looking forward to attending Chester Green Festival in June!”
“This is such an important project for our community and for its future. Great job!”
Helen Tandy from Eco Communities UK said: “Communities across Cheshire West are calling for practical, everyday ways to move away from a throwaway culture and towards a more circular way of living – where items are repaired, reused and shared rather than binned.”
“Previous generations repaired and repurposed. We want to bring that mindset back to Cheshire West,” Helen added. “Some of these projects already exist locally. Others are still dreams but we can only move forward with community support.”
Residents can support the project by pledging from as little as £2 on the Spacehive crowdfunding platform. Find out more and support the project here: https://www.spacehive.com/full-circle-by-eco-communities
