River cleanup
As part of Paddle UK's Clear Access, Clear Waters campaign, Deva Canoe Club members took to the water in a mix of canoes, whitewater and sea kayaks to clean the river.
Sadly there had been sewage discharges in the early morning after a thunderstorm. Gloves and litter pickers were made available and, after a safety briefing, members set off both up and down stream from the club, returning after a couple of hours with a fine selection of bottles, cans and plastic items. Bagged, these were left at a pre-arranged point for the council to collect.
