Focus on Cycling and Walking – how your suggestions are making a difference
Thanks to your contributions the Council has now secured £161,000 from the Department for Transport to help keep people walking and cycling in a safe way during our recovery from the coronavirus crisis. This will help deliver initial improvements within the next 4-8 weeks at the following locations across Cheshire West and Chester:
- A483 Grosvenor Bridge, Chester
- A51 Boughton Corridor (Sandy Lane Gyratory to the Barrs Gyratory), Chester
- A5116 Liverpool Road Corridor (Dale Camp to Countess Way), Chester
- A54 Corridor (Woodford Lane to Wharton Roundabout), Winsford
- Roads 1 and 2 Winsford Industrial Estate
- Dingle Lane / Weaver Street, Winsford.
In July and August, free cycle skills lessons are also being provided for adults who live across the borough. We will also be monitoring pedestrian and cycle flows to ensure that our activities are making a positive contribution, informing wider future initiatives.
See our updates below for information on how improvements are being made across the borough.
