Free and confidential support for anyone at risk of or experiencing gambling-related harm


Beacon Counselling Trust (BCT) offer free and confidential specialist support for anyone at risk of or experiencing gambling-related harm. Accessible for anyone aged 16 and above, for the person gambling or anyone affected by the gambling of somebody else. There is no waiting list with support provided face to face, online and by telephone. BCT also offer free training for professionals working in helping roles with the 'Bet You Can Help' programme. A first aid approach for tackling gambling-related harm with either a 90-minute introductory session or full day level two award programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.

Each session looks at the landscape of gambling harm:

  • How gambling affects the brain.
  • The harm it can cause.
  • The role of advertising.
  • How we can ask about gambling harm.
  • Which specialist services are available.

Free workshops are also available for young people aged 10 to 21 in youth settings raising awareness of the risk of gambling and the links between gambling, gaming and digital harm.

Free training is also available for professionals working with young people, parents and carers.

BCT also work with employers to develop frameworks and policies for gambling-related harm in the workplace to protect any staff who may be experiencing harm through the Workplace Charter.
