Thank you to everyone who took part. The suggestions and ideas we received have help to shape short and medium-term measures to improve walking and cycling infrastructure in the borough.
A summary of the feedback received is available here.
Cheshire West and Chester Council launched its 'Walk. Ride. Thrive.' campaign to encourage more people to enjoy a summer of active travel.
The borough has seen a dramatic fall in traffic volume and air pollution during the coronavirus pandemic, with walking and cycling playing an increasingly important role in people's lives. Continuing to use these active modes of transport will also support the ambition to be a carbon neutral borough.
The Council secured £161,000 from the Department for Transport to help keep people walking and cycling in a safe way during our recovery from the coronavirus crisis.
The Council will be seeking to secure the more significant second phase of funding over the coming weeks to support more permanent cycling and walking infrastructure in the borough. Future schemes will again be guided by your ideas and suggestions so please continue to share your views on improvements you would like to see in your community to encourage more people to walk and cycle.
We still want your views on:
What challenges you face when walking and cycling in your local area
How we could improve things quickly.
Share your ideas with us on our interactive mapping tool. Alternatively, you can send us your suggestions privately via our online survey.
Whilst we will not be able to satisfy all requests, we will update you on how projects are progressing through this page.

Thank you to everyone who took part. Early feedback has already been used to secure funding for active travel.
We are still analysing views and will share results with you here in early Summer.
If you prefer to tell us your ideas privately, please complete our short survey. You can make up to five suggestions but are able to complete the survey more than once.
If you are reporting a street or road defect (such as a pothole or poor road surface) please report it directly to the council.
