    Sebastian’s Kindness Bakery

by Huntington Clerk , about 1 year ago

Huntington Parish Council and the whole Huntington community would like to thank Sebastian and his parents for raising community spirit so brilliantly. Every day, he bakes numerous cakes which he then gives away in his ‘bakery basket’ that he has set up outside his house. He then posts a photo on social media and makes so many people smile at his kindness and fantastic ideas! We hear his chocolate Brownies and Lemon Drizzle cake are amazing, just like him!!

Thank you so much Sebastian and his family !

Library Service delivers audio books to 101 year old customer

by Cheshire West and Chester Libraries, about 1 year ago

Following a request from Councillor Rachel Williams, the Library Service were able to provide a selection of audio books for a Malpas customer. Roz, who is 101 and registered blind, would normally visit our mobile library service, which is not running at the moment. Roz enjoys a good murder mystery but had come to the end of her current supply of audio books. We were happy to help!

    Lache Primary School

by Lache Primary School, about 1 year ago

Over the last few weeks, we have been working tirelessly at Lache Primary School to ensure that all our families are safe and well.

The busiest job, for sure, is delivering school lunches to those on Free School Meals. We are so grateful to Mrs Lawson and Mrs Edwards for delivering them multiple times a week as it isn’t a quick job at all.

As well as lunch deliveries staff have been out and about delivering a range of different things to our families and even though we can’t hug or high five like we would normally do it is... Continue reading

    Weaverham Helping Hands

by Jennywhite9, about 1 year ago

I have set up a Facebook group called Weaverham Helping Hands. Also me and others from the group have put flyers through some letter boxes who we suspect to be elderly offering our help. We help a number of people now with collecting medication and shopping etc. Also I have arranged free meals delivered to some vulnerable people in the community from The Strong hold and St Mary’s Church. I do and online quiz on Facebook each Saturday night too. I am an NHS responder but had no requests so far. Jenny White

Painting the town red, white and blue

by Cllr. Christine Warner, about 1 year ago

What do you do to lift people’s spirits as we approach the anniversary of VE Day? Well, paint the fence at the British Legion red, white and blue of course!

I don’t think Banksy has anything to worry about as Cllr. Paul Donovan, Cllr. Peter Wheeler and Cllr. Christine Warner set about cheering up the fence with lively colours.

Local residents stopped to speak to us and cheer us on.

If you haven’t already seen our artistic efforts do stop and notice it next time you pass.
