  People from Ashton Hayes and surrounding villages are supporting each other over this very difficult time through a partnership between the Parish Council, the Community Shop, the Church and OPAL ,a local charity supporting older people and Timebank , another local charity.

  Around 90 local volunteers are involved and over 100 people are receiving support of some kind . they are those who are having to stay in and cannot obtain shopping easily and people who often need emotional support , friendship and contact with people.   With the current situation with christelton residents unable to get out to visit family members who have passed away. My children decided to put a flower on every grave in christelton church so I decided to do the first 300 with them and fundraising has allowed us to do nearly 1000 alread. There is about 1900 graves to go. My daughter's idea and great lesson to help others and make people smile in tough times.   Bibbity Boppity Boo is a music and movement workshop promoting Makaton sign language, run by Ellesmere Port single parents, Kirsty Stanger and Carly Davies. Since lockdown they have started an online version of their amazing workshops that includes 7 free classes per week. They are in their forth week and have provided education and entertainment to over 2000 children, including singing, dancing and teaching them sign language.   Six-year-old Cal Graham from Ellesmere Port has been helping to deliver essential food and drink to residents that are isolated due to lockdown. Cal would normally be out there playing football with his mates but since lockdown Cal wants to put his time into helping others.   Have gone from providing hot meals for approx 40 people every Saturday night to orchestrating the provision of meals for approx 150 people in temporary accommodation in Chester.

  Supported by local restaurants, businesses, individuals and church groups, Soul Kitchen and its volunteer base are ensuring that this vulnerable group are supplied with hot nutritious meals seven days a week.

  Huntington Parish Council and the whole Huntington community would like to thank Sebastian and his parents for raising community spirit so brilliantly. Every day, he bakes numerous cakes which he then gives away in his ‘bakery basket’ that he has set up outside his house. He then posts a photo on social media and makes so many people smile at his kindness and fantastic ideas! We hear his chocolate Brownies and Lemon Drizzle cake are amazing, just like him!!

  Following a request from Councillor Rachel Williams, the Library Service were able to provide a selection of audio books for a Malpas customer. Roz, who is 101 and registered blind, would normally visit our mobile library service, which is not running at the moment. Roz enjoys a good murder mystery but had come to the end of her current supply of audio books. We were happy to help!
